The Art of Writing
It’s true what people say. To be noticed as a talented writer, every single word you write will draw the readers’ attention until your final word . How I hope to be an excellent writer one day. Writing a book is not my cup of tea. But, maybe writing an article or so… I’m being geeky again..
Anyway, I’ve been reading some fictional books for the last few days.. I started off with a book that I’ve bought months earlier. I bought this book during its first release in Malaysia ( which somehow, I kinda regretted now cause I spent double for the same paperback version ) in MPH Subang Jaya. Thanks For The Memories is the title of the book by the wonderful writer, Cecelia Ahern. I have to admit; I’m her so-called fan. Seriously, she writes amazing books. I still remember reading my first Cecelia Ahern’s book a year ago; entitled A Place Called Here. A friend of mine gave it to me for my 17th birthday. At first, I like the book because it has a great cover. Somehow, after spending some times reading, it was great. Then, I began to search for her other books on the internet. Few days later, I bought P/S I Love You and Love, Rosie. I have to say, P/ S I Love You is one of the best books that I’ve read. It made me laugh and at the same time cried. ( That might be easy to believe. Dayah won’t find that hard to believe at all. I even cry watching cartoon about cows.. ).
Thanks For The Memories is one of CeceliaAhern’s unique novel. I can say, it kinda worth it to read this book although it can’t beat P/S I Love You.
Then, upon finishing that book,I began to read another fictional book. Yet, this time, I choose to go for a local writer. The gifted Faisal Tehrani’s book entitled Surat – Surat Perempuan Johor. I have to warn you, Faisal Tehrani’s book is one of few books that’s rather complicated. Some of the words are never heard of ( Kamus Dewan might come in handy ), and some of the sentences require me to read at least twice to properly understand the whole content. It is kinda of a serious reading which require a lot of concentration. I also knew him last year by reading his masterpiece, 1515. Just by reading his books, I know he is someone is full of knowledge especially about history and Islam. What I can say is that he’s one of a few Malaysians who has the creativity and ability to create some pieces of art; the art of writing.
